RBAC, Policy & Cost Governance

– Set up Entra ID users and groups, then worked through assigning RBAC roles at the right scope. I got into the on resource group scope matters vs subscription scope

– a VM no public IP; all access goes through Azure Bastion.

– Wrote the NSG rules carefully to allow only what was needed, documented the reasoning, and set up automated backup via Recovery Services Vault

– Restricted public access on the storage account, used SAS tokens hosted a static on top ; I wanted to understand the access model properly, not just the

– Added rules to move blobs to tiers automatically and delete what wasn't needed, this to keep costs down.

– Deployed to Azure App Services up a GitHub Actions pipeline so every push to main triggered an automatic deployment ; much more satisfying than manual deploys

– Plugged in Azure Monitor so there was visibility on whether the app was actually running as expected

– Ran all the usual ceremonies ; planning, retros, standups; but the more useful part was learning how to spot when a team is stuck and actually do something about it

– Worked closely with the Product Owner to keep the backlog in a usable state; a badly groomed backlog is one of the fastest ways to slow a team down

– Left with a much better feel for how teams communicate (and miscommunicate) under deadline pressure .

Network and customer analytics for one of Cameroon's largest telecoms operator

– Pulled, cleaned, and integrated data from multiple internal sources, improving dataset reliability and reducing manual data preparation time by 20%.

– Built Python-based machine learning models for churn prediction and high-value customer (ARPU) identification, supporting targeted retention actions and revenue optimization initiatives.

– Developed and maintained BI dashboards and performance reports, enabling stakeholders to track key operational KPIs and improving reporting turnaround time by 25%.

– Implemented data quality checks and documentation standards, increasing consistency and trust in analytical outputs while strengthening data governance and reproducibility across teams.
