- Université d'OrléansPhD StudentCENTRES DE RECHERCHEseptembre 2020 - Aujourd'hui (5 ans et 9 mois)Orléans, FranceIn my thesis, I focus on the fusion of 3D models and thermal information to provide quantitative metrics for chronic wound assessment; particularly, using affordable and portable devices for widespread use. Performed end-to-end research and implementation:- Research on the state of the art of multimodal registration of thermal imaging to 3D models.- Proposed a new algorithm and procedure to create thermal 3D models with portable and low-cost devices. Developed the tool using Python(OpenCV, Open3D) .- Planned, managed, and executed a data acquisition of a longitudinal study on chronic wounds.- Data management, and implementation of visualization tools (dashboards, and 3D interactive vis).- Presentation of results to medical practitioners, and paper's writing.- Proposed projects and supervised 5 undergrad students.- Supervised the implementation of an Android App based on all this experience.
- Pontificia Universidad Católica del PerúResearcher - Medical Image LaboratoryCENTRES DE RECHERCHEmars 2019 - septembre 2020 (1 an et 6 mois)Lima, PérouI contribute with consulting in data analysis and inference for research studies. Also, I contribute with advice in 3D modeling when required. In 2019-2020, I contributed to the acquisition, management, and analysis of data to investigate the different tissues of the diabetic plantar foot using ultrasound:◦ Development of proof-of-concept software for data analysis and visualization of ultrasound images.◦ Research paper: Plantar Soft Tissue Characterization Using Reverberant Shear Wave Elastography Software/Tools: Matlab, R, RMarkdown, Meshroom, Python, Open3D

- Ph.D. in Engineering,Université d'Orléans, FranceIn my thesis, I focus on the study of registration between 3D models and thermal information to create quantitative metrics for chronic wound assessment. I am particularly interested in the use of affordable and portable devices; and the use of 3D computer vision to provide an affordable and remote wound assessment tool. As a result, I have developed and implemented an automated system for acquiring 3D thermal models in clinical environments. All my algorithms are initially developed in Python. The first POCs was developed in Matlab and RMarkdown. In 2023, an android smartphone application has been finalized and is currently in alpha stage. Activities performed during the PhD - I researched algorithms for the registration of thermal imaging to 3D models. - Proposed and implemented a process for creating a 3D thermal model using portable and low-cost devices. - Planning and execution of data acquisition for a longitudinal pilot study in France and Peru. - Design and implementation of dashboards for tracking longitudinal data acquisition. - Implementation of online visualization tools for interaction with 3D thermal models. - I supervised and mentor 3 undergraduate students and 1 android developer. Software used: R, Python
- MSc in StatisticsPontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP)2016My master's thesis, "Estimation of the disease prevalence when diagnostic tests are subject to classification error: Bayesian Approach" won the 2016 Graduate Student Research Support Program (PAIP) award. My dissertation was unanimously qualified as "outstanding".
