Florian Maury

I am a system, network, software and security engineer providing counsel, trainings and engineering workforce as a freelancer. My previous experiences gave me the ability to onboard on complex projects and embrace them in their entirety, with a vision encompassing the needs of software developers, system administrators, and security engineers. Although I can perfectly fit for an architect position, I also have an extensive background of hands-on engineering.

Until recently, I was the infrastructure team leader at Hackcyom, a security company specialized in Cloud Computing Security. This position involved developing a secure image-based Linux distribution for system administrator and developer workstations, maintaining our own information system, and providing counsel for our clients.

Before that, I was the technical leader of a team of 3 working on the design and the development of a network probe based on Suricata. I have an extensive hands-on experience as a Go developer and Python developer, and did a fair bit of system programming, including low-level programming and the very occasional Linux kernel debugging. I worked a lot with the various Linux security features, such as namespaces, seccomp BPF, chroots, *-verity, dm-crypt. I worked with IPsec (strongswan) and wireguard. Finally, I have an extensive experience with Debian and systemd.

Before that, I was a network and protocol security researcher at ANSSI, where I studied various network protocols, including DNS, TLS, HTTP (1 and 2), and GnuPG. I published in various conferences, on network and cryptography topics, and in the French press (MISC).

Throughout my career, I was often given the chance of serving as a trainer on various topics, including web security, system security, TLS, IPFS, authentication, and applied cryptography.
