Guilhem Sempere

I am a senior software engineer designing and developing web platforms dedicated to the centralization, exploration and sharing of large-scale scientific data.

For more than fifteen years, I have been working on production-grade infrastructures handling complex semi-structured datasets, including genomic variation data, dense genotyping matrices and annotated meta-omics data. My work is primarily focused on direct technical contribution, with strong emphasis on robustness, performance, maintainability and user experience.

I have been the lead developer on several platforms used in production, including Gigwa, metaXplor and WIDDE. These tools are primarily designed as data hubs, integrating standard exploration, quality control and utility services (e.g. filtering, exports, BLAST) to facilitate data sharing and reuse without requiring advanced bioinformatics expertise.

I am particularly interested in missions or collaborations where I can:

- contribute to the architecture and backend of data-intensive applications

- evolve and strengthen existing scientific platforms

- design cloud-oriented services for data sharing

- contribute pragmatically and operationally to technical projects

I also have significant experience in sequencing data processing, including the development of custom pipelines and tools aimed at simplifying access to sequencing data processing workflows for non-specialists (notably mbctools, a wrapper around vsearch with an integrated metabarcoding pipeline).
