Martine Guebel

For more than 27 years now, Martine has been successfully combining her talents as a Project Manager, Functional Tester, Quality Manager, Support Officer, Technical Author and Service Manager with a rich career as a Translator, Copywriter and Trainer.

After successfully completing 5 years of university studies, she started her career as a language teacher for 2 years before making a decided move to the IT world in 1994, analysing and coordinating, testing, documenting and assessing software products and client needs.

After offering her services to various subsequent companies in Belgium and already performing short missions to the European Commission via write! Technical Communications, she permanently joined the IT Department of DG GROWTH as a freelancer in 2004. She is now recognised as a major team player within the Application Support unit of DG GROW’s IT Department.

As a translator, Martine really started her career when she joined the company write! Technical communications nv/sa in 1997. She had the chance to translate (EN/NL>FR) what she was most familiar with: software documentation and interfaces. Simultaneously, she was frequently asked to provide help, support and training to end users.

In her different fields of expertise, Martine has proven her analytical skills, her structured way of thinking and writing, a strong user-oriented IT focus, and a superior feeling for language. She was awarded first prize in a French Essay Contest organised by Rotary International (1987). She is also the author of a bilingual electronic English-French, French-English dictionary of finance, EcoMate 2000 (also available on AppStore.

What clients and colleague mostly appreciate is her quick understanding of software applications, her sense of self-organisation and ability to interface with Project Leaders, Clients and developers.
